Cleaning is a trust business. Most of what follows is about looking like an established, insured operation rather than a casual one — branded vehicles, uniformed staff, and the safety signage that says you know what you're doing on a commercial site.
Vehicles
- Vehicle signage — cut decals for the van or ute. For commercial cleaning especially, an unbranded vehicle in a client's carpark undermines the whole pitch.
- Vehicle magnets — practical where staff use their own cars, which is common in domestic cleaning.
On site
- Wet floor stands — the single most important item on this page. Every wet floor you leave without one is a liability, and they're the cheapest protection you can buy.
- Floor signs and stands for cleaning in progress, do not enter and restricted areas.
- Notice signs for out-of-service amenities and area closed for cleaning.
- Chemical storage signage for your store cupboard and trailer.
- Mandatory signage for PPE where your SWMS requires it.
Uniform and presentation
- Branded apparel — polos, tees and hi-vis. Uniformed staff in a client's building is the difference between a contractor and a stranger.
- Cut vinyl stickers for equipment, caddies and vacuum identification — useful when several crews share gear.
Winning and keeping contracts
- Business cards for site managers and quoting.
- Fridge magnets — for domestic and end-of-lease work, the magnet on the fridge is what gets found when someone moves out.
- Stickers — a small "cleaned by" label on amenities is quiet, constant advertising in a building you already service.
- Pull-up banners for tenders, expos and strata meetings.
- Printed promotional items for client thank-yous and referral incentives.
